Destiny 2 on The100 right now: 2 upcoming sessions, 47 sessions scheduled in the last 30 days, and 26 groups active in the last 30 days.
Destiny 2's hardest content has never had matchmaking. Raids want six players, dungeons want three, and neither has ever handed you a fireteam — you have always had to go and find one.
Every post above is a real Guardian looking for people, right now. Below is an honest account of where the game stands and what that means for finding a fireteam in it.

| Crossplay |
Partly
Non-competitive activities (strikes, social spaces) matchmake across all platforms, and cross play is on by default and can be turned off. Competitive modes (Crucible, Gambit) are split into a console pool and a PC pool, and a fireteam that includes PC players is placed in the PC pool; Trials of Osiris requires cross play enabled. |

| Cross-progression |
Yes
Cross Save lets you choose one set of characters to use on every linked platform (Xbox, PlayStation, Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic). DLC licenses do not transfer; there is a 90-day wait to re-enable after disabling. |

Bungie shipped Destiny 2's final live-service content update in June 2026. There are no more expansions, no more seasonal story beats, no more sandbox overhauls coming. The game itself did not shut down — servers are up, your account and your vault are intact, expansions you own still work, and every activity still runs.
What that changes for group-finding is worth stating plainly rather than dancing around. The players still logging in are not tourists. They are here for raids they want to run again, dungeons they want to solo-flawless, and the Guardians they used to play with. That is a smaller population than the peak and a far more deliberate one, and it is exactly the population that needs a fireteam finder — a casual player could always fill a strike playlist, but nobody has ever been matchmade into a raid.
There is also less infrastructure to find them with than there used to be. Bungie removed its own web Groups and Legacy Fireteam Finder from bungie.net in July 2025, leaving the in-game Fireteam Finder and third-party sites. This is one of the few web-based ones still standing.
Raids are six players and have no matchmaking. Dungeons are three and have none either. Trials of Osiris is three. Grandmaster Nightfalls are three, and are the clearest example of the problem — the activity exists, the difficulty is real, and the game will not find you two people for it.
Everything with a playlist — strikes, Crucible, Gambit, seasonal activities — will fill itself. If that is all you play, you do not need this page. If you want to see a raid encounter you have never cleared, you do.
The other thing a fireteam solves is teaching. Most raid encounters are unteachable by a stranger who is in a hurry and perfectly teachable by someone who agreed in advance to explain them. A post that says "first clear, will explain" and a post that says "KWTD" are aimed at different people, and both fill.
Name the activity, name the encounter if you are checkpointing, say whether you need people who know the fight, and give a start time in a real timezone. "Vault of Glass, Atheon CP, 8pm Eastern, mic required, two spots" fills. "raid lfg" does not.
Say if you are teaching, and say if you are learning. The most reliable way to get a raid clear as a new player is to answer a post that already said it welcomes one, rather than to hide it and hope.
Yes. Bungie released the final live-service content update in June 2026 and the game moved into maintenance, but it was not shut down. Servers are online, your account, characters and vault are intact, the expansions you own still work, and every activity — raids, dungeons, Crucible, Gambit, playlists — still runs. What stopped is new content, not access.
No. Raids are six-player and dungeons are three-player, and neither has ever had matchmaking. Trials of Osiris and Grandmaster Nightfalls do not either. That is the specific gap an LFG post fills — the playlist activities fill themselves, the endgame never has.
Post or answer a session on a site that keeps a public list, like this one. Bungie removed its own web Groups and Legacy Fireteam Finder from bungie.net in July 2025, so the remaining options are the in-game Fireteam Finder, Discord servers, and third-party web LFG. A web post has one advantage over a Discord ping: it stays up, with a start time attached, so people in your timezone can find it hours later.
Yes. Destiny 2 has supported crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox and PC since 2021, so a fireteam can mix all three. Platform still matters for in-game voice chat and friend lists, which is why most fireteams that play together regularly end up on Discord.
Yes, and more readily now than during a content rush — the people still playing tend to be running raids because they enjoy running them, not because a season is expiring. Look for posts that say "sherpa", "teaching" or "first clear welcome", and say in your reply that it is your first time. Being upfront gets you into a fireteam that planned for it, which is a much better clear than getting silently carried.
